It's the weekend and I am excited to share the latest in challenges from Just Us Girls but even better than that, I was inspired to combine a few great challenges this week in order to better get the word out about this amazing kid named Sebastian and his sweetheart of a teacher. Often times in blogland we come across stories that strike a chord and stir the emotions...this is one such story as the quote at the top of my post first caught my eye at Amy's blog and led me to Sebastian's story. PTI Day 1 Anniversary challenge....inspired by: Michelle Wooderson

It's a very exciting time at Papertrey Ink right now...it's anniversary time and Nichole has kicked off day 1 in tribute to the talented ladies at the helm of inspiration and customer service at PTI! Like Nichole, my hat is off to these talented artists who deliver the creative goods day in and day out to inspire us and keep our hobby cutting edge! The challenge today is to pick an project from someone on the design team to be inspired by. I am definitely a fan of Michelle Wooderson. She rocks some funky fresh vintage style that I love! She chose to highlight a button card project and I jumped at the chance to create my valentine inspired set of tags...

I combined stamps and die from PTI Button Boutique and also Love Lives Here. Also my fave typewriter font stamp (love) from WD Stamps.

By layering to cardstock die cut buttons pumps up the paper button thickness and then I swiped on some crystal effects after stamping the button fronts and tied on some jute thread.

These little cutie tags are just the ticket for topping off my girls' valentine's gifts. Thanks Papertrey Ink for the jump start on valentine's day and HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!

Just Us Girls #122 sketch.....I love you like a {love song}, baby!

Hey friends! Just Us Girls are back with a sketch for you this week. Based on my post earlier about Wilson Designs Stamps, I had to keep the WD love going with a card using Let's Rock.

I stamped up some suh-weet vinyl using versamark ink and clear embossing powder on Papertrey Ink Smokey Shadow paper. Hey notice something off about this card? Well it's kinda hard to read the record label on an angle like that.....

Hold up! The record SPINS! *grin* revealing the surprise photo!

Couldn't really resist making this record spin and I can't wait to try this technique on future cards using this stamp set.

Another detail on this card is the sweet lyrics I cut from a thrifted piece of sheet music. I love when things just work like that.

One more shot from the gratuitous "vinyl" cam and then it's off to a ton of sketch inspiration from the girls of Just Us Girls!

Just Us Girls #121 valentine's themed template/3D...LoveBirdHouse...and announcement and the WINNER!

Hello love birds! February is looming which brings the pink and red out in me....this week the Just Us Girls gang is challenging you to make a 3D/template project with a valentine's theme.

Recently on a room clean up with my daughter's we came upon a wood birdhouse that she was done with. I asked {ok, begged a little} could I PLEASE have it for valentine's day? I have this idea of making holiday houses and when these cute alterable plain wood "birdhouses" come along in so many cute designs and for right around a dollar each at Michaels, only time and inspiration can hold me back! In this case, I just recycled an old project of my daughter's!

I pumped up the roof with some gorgeous red and pink BUTTONS to serve as shingles and cute trims and papers to finish off the sides and back of the house!

Speaking of BUTTONS...I have an exciting announcement to share...I was invited to join the amazing crafters of the Buttons Galore and More Button Bevy design team!!!! I am thrilled to be a part of the Bevy and I can't wait to share my button projects with you in the coming months!

A girl could go wild using red, pink, white and hearts ya know? And you know I couldn't resist red glitter glue to outline the heart-shaped door right?!

This LoveBirdHouse is right at home among the pink and red on our sideboard cabinet.

Just Us Girls 120 color...Seize the Cupcake!

Hey Just Us Girls fans! This week is a fabulous color challenge of red, white and pink! I decided to use it as inspiration for a sweet treat of a card...the cupcake card cut file from Kelleigh Ratzlaff! If you want to see examples of other ways I have used this cut file check out this post, this post, this post, and this post. You can't really go wrong dressing up a cupcake shaped card!

I limited the red in my card to the pop of the heart shaped gem "cherry" on top and the fun birthday banner I stamped using sentiment stamps from Wilson Designs Strawberry Lemonade and a birthday set from Papertrey Ink. I used a toothpick to wrap the flag and paper streamers around before I planted it behind the heart shaped gem. Fabric paints continue to be my favorite "frosting" for these cards.

Swiss dot embossed white paper is like frosting with built in "sprinkles"!

Happy weekend! I've got a brand spanking new technique challenge from Just Us Girls to share..

Find a great demo at splitcoast stampers on collage stamping. Also, loving the inspiration from the Shabby Tea Room #96 (colors and sewing themed embellishment), the Ribbon Reel #19 (polka dots, pink, and ribbon/twine) and City Crafter Challenge #91 (black silhouette).

This multi challenge card was also inspired by a dear friend's upcoming birthday! She's stylish, beautiful inside and out, and I ADORE her!

Using the collage stamping technique I was able to add some pretty images from some of my favorite stamp companies to designer papers from My Mind's Eye that already had a collage-y look to them.

I bought a 6 x 6 paper pad of the My Minds Eye Lost and Found Blush collection and guess what? There are two sheets of everything so I'd love to share a set with one of my blog friends! {Thinking of you today} with Just Us Girls #118, Papertrey MIM a la Carte and CR84FN45

It's the weekend! Yeah baby! Ours will be full of kid-tivities (basketball, party and 4H meetings), how about you? Before you dive headlong into the first full weekend of 2012, I hope you'll take some creative time and join in on some great challenges. To start it off, a fabulous sketch from Pam and Just Us Girls!

I drew my color inspiration from the creative ladies over at CR84FN....

And added in some Papertrey Ink Make It Monday technique. This week is a la carte...we can pick any of the previous techniques to use this time. I jumped at the chance of going back to Week 13 for Make It Monday #13: Impression Plate Tricks 2...this is one I remember wanting to try so badly but just not working out the creative time to make it happen. Well, no more! I got some technique on amd can I just say *love*?!

Click on the top picture in this post or the one above to get a better look at how the oval die masked a perfect oval frame into the delicious Papertrey Ink impression plate woodgrain . I was able to use Lacey Ovals silver Nestabling to frame the outer edge of the impressed oval and the inner edge of the white cardstock oval. This color scheme + the Papertrey stamps and impression plate woodgrain remind me of tea in a good friend's country kitchen! I also used one of the floral stamps from Stitches and Swirls to stamp a "doily" for my teacup to rest upon. I can see a long-lasting creative love affair with this stamp set coming my way.... Yowsa!

Card Quickies and some doily fun!

Hey friends! A little while back I posted some quick mini gift cards I made using Want2Scrap bling, Wilson Designs, Papertrey Ink and My Cute Stamps. I love using these little cards for the many birthday parties my girls are lucky enough to attend and are often made *just before* the mad dash out of the house to their friend's birthday bash.

Many times I let the wrapping paper or gift bag dictate my color and theme choices making these cards even quicker than usual. The cool guitar from Wilson Designs is a go to easy choice for boy gifts.

These adorable eye glasses and typewriter inspired sentiment are from the same set as the guitar. You can find it here Let's Rock. You KNOW I can't resist adding google eyes, right?!

.....and....for no reason at all other than seeing this on the internet (check out Charlotte's tutorial) and needing to just DO this to a couple of my doilies.....

Just Us Girls #117...wild for FELT! and a lil chick beanie!

Hey peeps! It's the final challenge of 2011 with Just Us Girls! This week it's all about using felt on your project! Don't you just love felt? Memories from the earliest days of crafting are rich with felt festooned artwork. It's fluffy, it's doesn't fray and it's meat and potatoes for lifetime crafters and beginners alike. Wow! Even I didn't know how much I loved felt 'til just now...lol. So won't you pick up your felt scraps or cut into a new sheet and make something with us?

I used felt to make a tiny hangtag on this lil' chick beanie I made myself! Woohoo! I must admit I am pretty stoked about this project! I am not a knitter or crochet-er of any kind but with the help of a Knifty Knitter I was able to take this little hat from conception to finished product. Can I just say addictive??! We actually have two new babies coming in the next few months to my extended family so I have a good excuse to make more!

Beanie love aside, the challenge is about FELT and I used this darling chick stamp from Endless Creatons Inc and black Staz on ink to stamp direct to craft felt. A tiny snip of orange felt for the beak, black fabric paint for the eyes and stickles to add a little sparkle. Spellbinders rectangle and scalloped rectangle nesties makes the foundation of the tag and a simple straight stitch border seals the deal on this tag.

I wanted to make sure the recipient knows this is a one of a kind made just for them so i broke out a Stampin Up! stamp I've had for a while.

You know who else are one of a kind???? All of my treasured online friends (that's YOU, baby!) who make time in their day to stop by Paper Daydream. It really means a lot to me to be wrapping up my third year of blogging having met so many wonderful people through the common bond of craft and creativity. Thanks for sharing so selflessly with me over the years. I can't wait to see what 2012 brings us! Just Us Girls #116 technique challenge...the candle sleeve

It's Just Us Girls time! This week Kathryn is challenging us to create a candle sleeve. Candles are fun to give and receive and why not dress them up a little as packaging or before you put them on display?

I used strips of 1"x 5" DP from Stampin Up! to wrap all the way around these votive candles from Partylite. They are held in place with a single line of ATG adhesive so it will be easy to remove the sleeves before burning. I added a line of liquid glue to the bottom of the paper strip and dipped the candles in mica flakes from Stampin Up! (thanks Elise!) for a frosty edge. Punched snowflakes and pretty pink bling from Want2Scrap seal the deal on the these cuties. Enabler alert...all bling is on sale for 99cents at Want2Scrap! Woohoo!

The elf on a shelf... and happy holidays

Hi friends! The blog has been a little slow this month..but you know how it is this time of year...busy busy BUSY and THIS year....I'm blaming the ELF!

Buddy the Elf came to the girls this year from their beloved Mimi . She read the official story to them on Thanksgiving and he made the trip to our house that night. He was up to his antics the very first night by giving our family photo an extreme elf makeover with red elf hats for all of us! It's been non stop since then...

There was the dry erase santa beards and hats on a photo collage, the sit-in of the family easter egg-toss trophy, and the popping up here and there to surprise us!

He really got in the groove when the Christmas decorations started migrating into the house. He had a way of prompting us to get things done!

He also had a way of popping up in little spots around the house that are a part of our daily lives.

He made stops in our girls' rooms and then it was back to the holiday items like the awesome leg lamp night light our friends gave Greg this year, the mistletoe the girls collected at our friend's house and finally this morning, urging us to bake those christmas cookies by making a snow angel in the flour....I'm telling you, this ELF knows how to crack the holiday whip ;)

So I guess I must get to it...there is cookie dough awaiting us. I hope your holiday season has so far been full of wonder and merriment. Ours has certainly been!

Most of all, I'd like to wish each every one of you reading this post, a very magic filled holiday season and warm wishes for a prosperous and joy-filled 2012!

Country Christmas with Waltzingmouse!

Today I am sharing a tag that is made especially for my sweetie for Christmas. I used one of my favorite Waltzingmouse Stamps sets, Back in the Saddle, paired with the gorgeous and ornate Very Vintage Labels 18 to make a western themed Christmas tag. I am excited to enter this in the Waltzingmouse Christmas Tag Challenge too!

Can I get a YEE-HAW!? I was absolutely tickled to see what I could do to make these stamps a holiday festival of green and red + still keep the country and western vibe swingin'!

Not to be forgotten is the back of this card. I used the "rootin tootin" sentiment from Back in the Saddle and with a little creative inking, was able to add in the "christmas" from a Tim Holtz stamp set. I hope Claire will approve ;) I adore the typography in this western set and delighted in stamping the little "for:" and "from:" in green. This set has everything!

Clever Claire does it again with the incredible detail stamps included in her labels 18 set to fill in the floral and swirl motifs...more red and green ink for these! In addition to Waltzingmouse stamps there are the finishing touches made with Scribbles 3D fabric paint and glitter (try them, they have a great fine tip and seemingly less water content so I can get a nice firm line that doesn't seep), tiny craft items (mini bottle brush tree, jingle bell, ribbon, twine, wood button) and my favorite *BLING* and yours, Want2Scrap baby pearl bling in red!!! They make the most divine holly berries. And at only $1.50 for a 100....well, shoot now, a crafter might stockpile some of these for the holidays

...just sayin'. ;)

Hey JUGs fans! Time for some sketch fun hostessed by our darling Elise!

This sketch is an easy winner...perfectly balanced plus a signature Elise move with the little tab on the right. I can't wait to see what everyone does with this versatile sketch. For me....I had to throw down a little Santa goodness...

This fab Santa image if a Dover clip art that I printed with good intentions LAST Christmas! doh! But hey, he's still as inspiring as ever and I was able to pair him up with Papertrey ink DP's, CTMH ribbon, plus some trinkets from my stash...wired evergreen, golden Christmas sprig and my own handmade "bauble" using vintage pearls and jewelry maker's head pins (color me *inspired* by sir Tim Holtz and his 12 Tags of Christmas!)

I was able to able to customize the head pins to link these pearls together....ohhhhh myyyyy, I see a new habit taking shape! I need more jewelry findings like PRONTO!

Jingle all the way! I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving, for my US friends, and time with family and friends. It's a template challenge with Just Us Girls! This week Andrea has challenged us to make a boxed set of cards. Get cracking on a custom set of pretty cards for that special someone on your list.

I chose the super cute and easy to make Matchbox template from Kelleigh Ratzlaff. Dressing up this cute box was a snap with some upcycled corrugated cardboard die cut with a Tim Holtz tree die. Add in some *glitter* glue, bells, yarn, punched snowflake and Want2Scrap bling and you've got yourself a container fit for filling!

Simple notecards do the trick here.

Just Us Girls #111 color challenge...building winter tags with buttons!

Hey friends! There is a new color challenge going on over at Just Us Girls this week. Vicki is getting us in the Christmas spirit with a red, white and green challenge! I love Christmas crafting so this is right up my alley....thanks Vicki!

I decided to do a series of tags for this challenge and also incorporate BUTTONS to enter into the Buttons Galore and More challenge like I did over on my Christmas Cash envelope post. The tag above has a favorite Waltzingmouse stamp on it plus a new love, candy cane striped pipe cleaner (!), a button festooned holly and an ol' standby...vintage sheet music (oops! upside down) Glitter and holiday striped yarn finish this tag off.

For the Rudolph fans, a cute googly-eyed, red button nosed deer!

The fab antler stamps are Inkadinkadoo! One stamp for each side....just love the possibilities with these!

And finally a Frosty built of buttons! What snowman about town would be complete without a dapper top hat and fleece scarf??

Notice how my middle button is a little mis-made on the bottom....but building a snowman with this button made the missing piece seem purposeful! Frosty pops off a white embossed Waltzingmouse stamped label on red background layered onto a swiss dot embossed oval. And more silver glitter and holiday yarn of course!

All in one Christmas Card-Envelope-Gift! plus a little blog candy..

Hey friends! Happy monday! Today I want to share a totally practical holiday gift idea.....moo-la, cold hard Christmas cash! Let's face it, money is kinda boring to give but I find that nobody is disappointed to receive it! But to appease my "a gift just especially for you" soul, I try and always give money creatively. Today I am using a cute little Christmas Cash Envelope template printable by Kelleigh Ratzlaff already digitally designed with artwork by Mari Koegelenberg, Pamela Donnis and Melissa Wilson. Simply select the design you like and print!

Here's my envelope printed via my home inkjet printer on matte cardstock. Now Kelleigh is the queen of the cash only system and actually uses these envelopes as a household budgeting tool, thus the circle tab at the top of the envelope. You simply must check out her blog for tips on how her budgeting system works. It's inspiring! But back to gift giving...I simply altered the tab top to make this a standard flat topped envelope with the addition of strips of cut paper folded and glued to the top edges of the envelope opening.

I use my Scor-Pal board for all of my template making. Kelleigh and the gang have built in *faint* white line marks to help you know where to score to fold this template. My scoring tool is pointed at one of the marks...see? so faint they won't interrupt your design at all!

Two things to notes above....first the expert shadowing on the "Christmas cash" label makes it look like something I added...but nope, it's all done digitally. THAT is simply magic! Second, check out the exact score lines I can make with a Scor Pal!? THAT is magic too!

Once the template is all folded and glues together, the fun of embellishing begins. Today I chose some simple holiday colored yarn that is just a tad thicker than the Twinery twine and BUTTONS! Have you seen the holiday linky party going on at Buttons Galore and More? The silvery grey and white buttons above are from their product line plus a few more buttons I had in my stash. Because the twine/yarn is thick-ish, I can thread the buttons to lie in a specific spot so that when I wrap the tie around the envelope to secure the gift inside they create a cute design on the front! The twine is anchored by a punched circle secured with a mini brad in the center.

You can see that the money won't slip from the open area that is left once the money card is wrapped and tied closed.

Easy peasy! My Christmas cash card is complete! ...now to see who is on Santa's "nice" list ;)

Just Us Girls 110...technique week....it's beginning to look alot like Christmas

I can't help it! Even though it's not even mid-November, I am getting my Christmas groove on! I'm humming carols, I'm lighting candy cane scented candles and seeing red and green wherever I look! So, my card for this week's Just Us Girls "ghosting" challenge is, no surprise, Christmas themed...

Check out this great tutorial on Splitcoast Stampers for details on how to ghosting. Thanks to our lovely and talented LISA for challenging us with this fun technique!

I used three strips of polka dotted clear stamps from Papertrey Ink to stamp my background with Versamark Ink. I have a large clear block so I just lined them up side by side so I only had to stamp once for my dotty snow-inspired backdrop. To fully dry the Versamark Ink I first hit it with the heat gun, then double-checked the dryness by pouncing a embossing buddy over the surface of the ink and heat gunning again. Once I was sure that it was dry, I used a Adirondack Tim Holtz ink applicator with sponge to rub on light blue ink. A soft towel wiped the surface free of stray embossing buddy powder and blue ink from the versamarked dots. The glossy cardstock retains it's beautiful sheen even after all the inking. I channeled my inner ANDREA and kept this card clean with just the addition of one juicy tree stamp and a bit of repurposed silver ribbon. I love it! And it's flat enough to mail without extra postage. double love it!

Just Us Girls 106 Color challenge...hey, ghoul-friend!

Hey ghoul-friends! How about playing along with Just Us Girls this week for a fabulous Halloween-inspired color palette!

I took a cruise through my vintage photographs and came up with this elegant beauty. Adorning her with a jaunty witches hat was a snap and I added a simple sentiment using a font called "Splurge" to type my message in Word. I hand-lined the sentiment frames using a fine tip purple Zig Writer and I also hand lined the photo with fine silver glitter. Some fun trims and she is ready for some "ghoul" talk!

I don't know about you, but Halloween is starting to pop up all over the place! We had a first official Halloween craft a couple of nights ago at our local 4-H meeting. The kids brought pumpkins to decorate and donate to a local convalescent home. Before these embellished pumpkin pals were packed up to go on their merry way, I had to snap a quick photo of each. My girls are easy smilers for their mamarazzi but nothing brought a more merry giggle to me this week than the quick grin of my youngest beaming next to her gap-toothed jack-o-lantern!! Elise, of Mamacow Creations, noted that carving jack-o-lanterns must have originally been inspired by a mouthful of 2nd grade teeth...errr should I more accurately say *missing* 2nd grade teeth?!?? I totally agree!

I'm linking this post up to fellow 4-H mom, Nancy of The Wife of Dairyman, on her Thankful Thursday linky. I am thankful for the honest to goodness laugh and joy my girls bring to my life for the simplest things...today it happens to be driven by a little holiday crafting, what's not to love about that?

*I'm also thankful I was able to untangle a sewing machine bobbin thread today in the middle of stitching a Halloween costume...but that's a post for another day!*

Hello friends! It's a TWO year anniversary for the JUGs girls! SO very exciting to be a part of such a talented group of ladies for two whole years! Time truly flies when you are having fun! I got some Christmas on using fun papers by Flair (striped) and Papertrey Ink (bitty dot). I could not resist adding the white pom poms to the ends of my banner and gussying things up with Want2Scrap baby red pearls, silver tinsel trim and red bakers twine!

I stamped the ornament using stampin up! certainly celery and then painted it with Citrus Creative Inspirations paint plus stickles glitter on the stripes to give it some *shine*.

My project for this hop is a Christmas card. Usually I am pretty traditional in my color choices…red and green. But I do so enjoy pink and aqua as variations that I want to make sure to use this color combo for the holidays a little more this year.

For this card I used Pine Tree Chipboard Embellishments - Pack of 4, 72 Count - Hot Pink Pearls - Self Adhesive, 72 Count - White Pearls - Self Adhesive, and Nestabling Heart Circles Hot Pink Rhinestones. In case you were interested, here is how I frosted my tree that glorious pink!

I started with my chipboard tree and two Acrylic Paint Tubes from EcoGreen Crafts. These generous sized, high quality, and GREEN paints are a dream to work with. I first painted and let dry a layer of Peony paint.

Next, brushing from the edges in, I frosted this tree with white for a cool and crisp effect. A layer of liquid glue and chunky glitter completed the effect on this tree.

Have you already fallen in love with German glass glitter? My sparkly lovin’ soul yearns for this wonderful supply to appear in my craft stash but for now, I’m faking it until I make it using a bit of alcohol ink and some chunky glass glitter from Stampin’ Up!

The technique is simple. Make a small pile of glitter and dot alcohol ink over the top.

Can you say YUM?? Once I had dripped my ink into the pile, I spread it out on paper and let it dry. The result??

A very vintage inspired aqua glass glitter using supplies I already had! Same as luscious German glass glitter? no. BUT a pretty great upgrade to the standard silver I already love!

Building holly leaves with my aqua glitter and 72 Count - Hot Pink Pearls - Self Adhesive was a cinch! To make a sturdy piece I squirted a generous dollop of Beacon Adhesives 3-in-1 Advanced Craft Glue on to a non stick craft mat and aligned my be-glittered leaves and 3 hot pink pearls and left it to dry. In the meantime, I turned my attention to making a tiny bling and pearl garland to hang on my card.

Using silver jewelry making thread and bling from Want2Scrap I quickly assembled the cutest little garland!

By sticking two bling together you can entrap the jewelry thread and ta-da! Garland galore!

Now that my holly assemblage was dry I was able to adhere it to my card and stash the extra glitter in a small zip closure bag…save that for another day!

Happy monday! It's been a long while since I could play with the girls in the Shabby Tea Room! Boy have I missed participating but TODAY I can say I am back in the game. The challenge this week in the Tea Room is called Vintage White...check out the inspo...

Umm, hellooooo gorgeous shabby mantel of my dreams! lol Since I can't recreate that inspiration photo in my home, how about an elegant card for a special friend's wedding?

I channeled the neutral vibe and kept the design simple but hopefully just enough visual impact and contrast by using embossed cardstock, a satin-y wide ribbon and a gorgeous ribbon charm from Want2Scrap. I hope the happy couple likes this.

Hey JUGs fans! Our darling Elise has created a fab color challenge for us! So crisp and fresh...perfect for the impending season of Autumn! Truly, my favorite season of the year.

I gathered up a ATC chipboard card from EcoGreen thinking of making a button card inspired centerpiece for my card but as the embellishments went on, it got to be looking a little more like a house so I went with it!

A pretty Jolee's autumn sticker I'm been saving in my stash finally got to come out and play. As cute as those tiny leaves and acorns were, I had to give them a little sparkle with stickles.

The new brown swirls from Want2Scrap are THE ultimate in pretty embellies for fall.

Ciao bellas! I'm so tickled your here! This week the Just Us Girls crew celebrates the 100th challenge! Yipes! How fantistico! To honor the distance we've come, we are taking it back old skool...to the very first sketch! Snap in for a wonderful ride on the Just Us Girls REmix! Remember this gem of a sketch????

Yep, she's back and ready for more action! I recently received some stamps from darling Kim of Wilson Designs. Among the stack was this so FUN set called Scoot Away with Me. From the day Kim released this set, I have been jones-ing to recreate this real life scoot-scoot I saw in Como, Italy last year...

Can't you just picture me scooting around on this aqua baby in my designer stilettos??? OK maybe not but I do adore a cool Vespa...especially in Italy! I guess, for now, I'll have to stick to stamps!

Mee-owww! Isn't she the cutest little scooter rider??! DAH-LING really! How do you keep your hair "helmet-head" free?! Kim hit this right on the money...there are absolutely ladies dressed to the nines riding their scooters in Italy. *love*

The sentiments font in the set is super cute too! I love the retro feel the script has plus there is a houndstooth pattern stamp too.

Just Us Girls #98..color time!

It's color week, darlings! Just Us Girls are challenging you to an eye popping color scheme from our dear darling , Elise! Join us won't you?

I went totally scrap-ular on this one a it was the perfect color set to get some photos that have been milling about my desk for far too long, down on paper with the memories sprinkled in between them using Word and photos from our day fishing at the family ranch...

I am powerless to the enchantment of my two girls trailing after their daddy in the outdoors. I could snap pictures of their special relationship all day long! This particular day was a rare sunny JANUARY day just right for fishing...wait, huh!?? OK, even in California we don't expect 80 degree days or good fishing in January but lucky for us, we hit a golden day.

This is one of my favorite techniques when I have a story to tell and lots of pictures to share. Microsoft Word does the trick interspersing your photos throughout a bunch of journaling. If you haven't tried this before, play around with the "wrap" function when inserting photos into text. The results are very cool I think.

I used some pretty new swirls from Want2Scrap and took advantage of the space in between the bling to offload some long hoarded microbeads. I will be chasing these around the craft room for weeks now!

More bling and buttons and bits of goodies to finish off my page. FINALLY! These pictures can be put to bed and I feel great about that!

Just Us Girls #97 Altered Notebook challenge

Hey Just Us Girls Fans! Fabulous Maria has challenged us to alter a notebook. I snatched up a small size at my local Walgreens for 20 cents and set about making it my own!

I used a few of my favorite Elements from the Cosmo Cricket Girl Friday line...I went for elements that said "get 'er done and still have fun". I think it's a good idea to keep that ever growing to-do list in perspective so I inked up a Leavenworth Jackson stamp reminding me that if it doesn't have "meaning" I need to re-evaluate whether or not it belongs on my list! ;)

Button and baker's twine closure are a good way to keep this little book closed up while it tumbles around in my purse!

The back cover is for those times when my hair seems to be standing on end and my TWO children seem more like 20 children...."work with me people"!!!! Just keeping it light and real....

My project today uses the *amazing* laser cut Eiffel Tower from Want2Scrap™ along with the Baby Bling Rhinestones Silver - 100 Count Silver - 2.5 mm. The laser cut is the perfect match for the gorgeous papers from Graphic 45.

It's the fine details that really do all the work here. Check out the lattice work on this laser cut and the way the baby bling lights up the tower just like they do on the real tower in Paris! de-LIGHT-ful!

Just Us Girls 96 sketch!

Hey Just Us Girls fans! It's sketch time! Pam has hooked us up with a lovely and versatile sketch this month! You are gonna love it and we are gonna love seeing your interpretation of it!

Woohoo! Lovin' those layered circles! I stuck right to the sketch (for once!) and went with a CAS design using cardstock and the gorgeous Mehndi Medallion stamps from Wplus9.

A stamped and trimmed sentiment, satin ribbon and some baby bling rhinestones from Want2Scrap do the trick. I'm pretty much letting the Mehndis do the talking!

Make It Monday...Ahoy Little Sailor!

It's been awhile since I've been able to jump in on a Papertrey Make it Monday challenge. I'm excited to have a chance to try on the coloring with white ink challenge #25. Taking Heather's lead with her snowman stamped on craft, I decided on the cute onesie from the Bitty Baby Blessings set.

I loved how the white ink gave the onesie a soft cottony look.

I didn't love how the white ink lightens the black ink stamped lines so I did my best to re-line the images with a fine line black marker....the boat sail proved a little tough for me! I also colored in the sail with a white poster paint sharpie pen so it would pop from the onesie a bit. This was a really fun technique, especially on kraft paper. Thanks for the inspiration Heather!

Just Us Girls #94 ...the bag challenge!

Hey y'all! A super fun challenge over at Just Us Girls this week....it's the gift bag challenge! I hope you like it and will have fun unleashing your creative spirits on the blank canvas of the ordinary gift bag.

Thanks to my super talented friend Samantha who is an amazingly creative and gifted crafter with yarn *hi Sam!*, I was lead to find tutorials on crocheting on youtube.....and made the above crocheted flower following this tutorial! This was so FUN!...especially since I am *not* gifted like my friend Samantha! I thought a crochet flower and a simple chain stitch "ribbon" would be a fun and cozy way to dress up my kraft colored gift bag.

By using an anywhere hole punch, I was able to punch some holes to thread my yarn ribbon through. Easy!

I used the same holes to tie my crochet rose to the bag. How fun will this be to fill up with yarn craft supplies....or as packaging to a hand crocheted custom beanie hat like my friend, Samantha, makes???
