How to make a candy gram card....perfect for Dad!

Hey there!  I have a fun post for Father's Day...happy Father's Day to all the daddies out there!  Today with the help of Sharpies Fine tip markers, a poster board, my computer and a bunch of sweet treats, my girls and I have a fun candy-gram card to celebrate Father's Day.

We picked up a variety of different candies and made up a message to incorporate the names of the candies within our card.  The card is made up of a blue poster board from the dollar store and we used computer generated text with details hand drawn with Sharpies.  I attached the candies using my craft adhesive from Scotch ATG.  This project was super fun and would be great for graduations, valentines, birthday parties, etc.  How cool would this candy-gram be with a gift card to the local movie theater attached or a DVD for the ultimate at home movie night?

We had a lot of giggles coming up with this gift including choosing a candy to represent the girls....we opted for "sour patch kids"!  "Sugar Babies" would have been cute too. Be sure to search "candy gram" on Pinterest and you will find all kinds of fun ideas on ways to use candy to create these cards.

I hope you had a fun weekend and thanks for stopping by!

Wilson Designs Stamps Release Day 2!

Hey everyone!  Are you enjoying the release so far???  One of my favorite stamps in the set is this fab ticket outline.  So many possibilities to fill the center with.  For this card I used the circle star from the drive in stamp by masking the area around it and then layering an "Admit One" sentiment over it in a darker ink.  The perfect ticket half circle edge was made using a standard hole punch...no special die required!

I layered the ticket strip with fun papers from Sassafrass and then added a stamped sentiment at the top of the card.  Super fun and fast!

Wilson Designs May Release Day 1!

Looking for the Want2Scrap Glue Arts blog hop post?  See this post: Handmade fabric flower tag for details on winning great prizes!

It's herrrrre!  Another release week from Wilson Designs!  Kim has put together THE cutest set of stamps that will have you strollin', cruisin' and sock hoppin'.  Any fans of the movie Grease out there?  Well I'm pretty sure Danny, Sandy and the rest of the gang would feel right at home under this retro inspired drive-in sign stamp...

I took the opportunity to detail cut and layer parts of this stamp.  I also added one of the sentiments (pop on over) and one of the sweetest little images...the soda can!

Speaking of popcorn...this stamp set couldn't come at a better time for us locals in my neck of the woods.  This weekend marked another successful Petaluma's Salute to American Graffiti put on by the hardworking folks of Cruisin' the Boulevard.  While my hubs was hard at work cruise directing with the some odd 200 plus volunteers that day...

my littles along with, Mamacow Creations the younger, were peddling popcorn for our 4-H club...

Could these salespeople BE any cuter?!

But I digress...suffice it to say LOTS of classic inspiration this weekend at the car show but you must be ready for more inspo from the DT girls? Stay tuned in this week for inspiration every day from the DT Dolls and WD Stamps!
