This adorable hula stamp is inkadinkadoo. The image has a vintage flair to it to me so I wanted to simply stamp the image and distress the white cardstock to keep that vibe going. This card was definitely inspired by the cute ribbon. Also happy accident here...the white cardstock in the background with the flowers punched out of it turned out to be the perfect background for this card...remember my card casserole philosophy...too cute to throw away too small to put away so I used it.
A close up of the flower on the bow. A simple layering of punched flowers and a gem to echo the flowers on the ribbon. I curled the edges of the flower for dimension. FYI Fabric tac is my new best friend for adhering ribbon to anything else. Seriously! If you have been looking for something that does the job on ribbon, fabric tac is your superhero. (Thanks Tamara!)
These sweet trees are new from SU! this year and are called Trendy Trees. My good friend and SU! demonstrator, Elise delivered these to me hot off the presses just a bit ago and I just love 'em! They are on the small size and since I wanted to keep this card clean, green and simple, I used just a quarter of an 8 1/2 x 11 sheet. It measures 2 3/4 x 4 1/4. Seriously cute!
The "grass" is custom "grown" by me! A little zig writer pen work goes a long way :)
And last but not least, another card on the mini side using some de-LISH SU! stamps called In the Spotlight. I loved how these stamps came together on the stamped background. The scallop is the top edge of some vintage lace from my stash as well as the teal grosgrain. Cue the superhero music for the fabric tac again because the bow is a separate piece tied then glued on to the background ribbon and then topped with a gem. Run, don't walk, to the craft store to get some of this stuff...totally coupon worthy!
There is NO WAY I would have been able to tie the bow and not had the ribbon go all wonky. LOVE it!
Well, that's it for today friends. I hope you try a card or project in this color combo soon...it's a keeper!
Supplies:
cardstock: SU!
