Today a little something quiet and reserved for a precious great aunt who recently passed away. She was a lady in the true sense of the word. Kind, considerate and strong. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends as well as our community in which she was highly involved. So in her honor...
Like most, I have a hard time making sympathy cards. Despite a lovely stamp I own that says "with sympathy" I just rarely can stamp that on my card. I typically skip that particular sentiment and opt for a hand written message wishing the loved ones peace in their hearts. Just works for me that way. I also like to use bird images on sympathy cards. Birds in flight always make my heart feel hopeful and I like that message :)
The gray background for the bird and the elegant design stamped in grey on the kraft cardstock are both from Motif. Aren't they beautiful? I added a bold striped ribbon and the elegant half pearls from my friend Elise by SU! Thanks girlfriend! You know how much I love these!
Supplies:
Paper: SU! and Georgia Pacific
Stamps: Clearly Vintage and Studio G
Embossing plate: Cuttlebug swiss dots
Ink: SU!
Punch: SU!
Pearls: SU!
Ribbon: Value Ribbon from Michaels

Ohhhh, you sneaky little Devil! More gorgeous RAISED dots to taunt me! Unbelievably professional looking photography and a magnificent card that works beautifully for sympathy or ANYTHING, really! Great job, girly! You are marvelous! (Thanks for the linky, you sweet, little thing!)
This is beautiful...so very elegant. I absolutely love it and so will her family. You are so talented!
Note to self, get a bird stamp.
Sorry to hear about your great aunt. But what a lovely project in her memory. I always love birds, too.
Looks like I need to add a bird...especially in flight, to my insanely long wish list! You show it off stunningly! I love every element of this....what an eye you have, Dana. :>
Another beauty. I love the bird in flight. It is a great accent. Of course the background stamps are the best!!! Thanks for sharing.
Hey Dana! I have been by your blog several times for color challenges. This past color challenge, I thought "I need to go back when I have more time and look at some of her cards and things." I was trying to remember which post was yours, and I happened to notice I had a comment on my blog and it was from you! How weird is that! :) You have a great style, I'll be back again! Thanks for stopping by my blog too! (at just the right time!) :) Have a Blessed weekend!
