The woodgrain was stamped on dark chocolate cardstock that had previously been punched with the Marvy tree. I stamped the woodgrain twice to fill the cardstock with versamark and then covered it gold embossing powder. I don't use gold much but this combo of gold and chocolate is amazing together! I'll have to remember this.
The sentiment was typed up in Word and printed on a scrap of mustard colored cardstock. Three more scraps provided the space to use them with border punches and layer them on in strips. The addition of chipboard letters to spell Hoot and pearl colored dimensional fabric paint balanced the bright white of Mr Owl's eyes. This owl also came out of the package "sleeping" with eyes closed so a quick fix with some tiny google eyes gave him a wake up call. I wish I could apply that google eye effect to myself in the mornings! ha ha!
