Domestic Goddess with Just Us Girls and the Shabby Tea Room

HI there!  A quickie post to share a card I made for Just Us Girls and the Shabby Tea Room.  I wasn't able to meet the DT post deadline this week due to activities with my girls but I am so inspired by the JUGs girls and the participants that I definitely needed to make something apron-ish!

Check out the Just Us Girls blog for a link to an apron template and then get your domestic goddess on!  I also took the challenge over at the Shabby Tea Room to incorporate lime green, cool turquoise and hot pink.  Here's the inspo picture...
This photo makes me this of icy cool drinks in the back yard served with fresh homemade goodies.  Of course, the domestic goddess needs a cutie pie apron right?
If you checked out the template over at JUGs you will find I made a few adjustment ;)  I can't help where the mojo takes me sometimes.  Cosmo Cricket's DeLovely papers (LOVE!) combined with Just Rite Stampers Homemade Treats stamp set (LOVE!) said retro housewife apron to me.  Do you just LOVE the Mel's Diner/neon sign type face on the JustRite "Fresh Baked" stamp?  I do!  I paired it with the pear journaling block from CC's elements page and then cut the fork and knife with SCAL and cricket.  A fabric scrap "napkin" has been tucked into the apron pocket just in case Domestic Goddess needs to dab at a little speck o' somethin'.  The bottom trim of the apron was detail cut from a 12x12 sheet of DeLovely:Delightful designer paper.  I highlighted the flower centers with a touch of bling from Want 2 Scrap.
And no Domestic Goddess would dare be seen without a flower corsage! (boy do i ever believe in fantasyland or what??!)  I made the flower using Papertrey Ink Hawaiian Shores and glimmer mist using a tutorial linked at Kelleigh Ratzlaff's blog.  It wasn't too difficult and it seems that depending on the paper you use, you can get really different looks.  I love Kelleigh's crinkly look she acheived using textured paper!  Mine took on a more suede-like feel.

Thanks so much for stopping by today...now I think I'll go bake a pear cobbler or something! ;)
