{Sweet Little Baby} a challenge from Jane's Doodles

Happy new year's eve!  Last day of 2009 and let me tell you, I am sooooo ready for a brand new year full of hope and promise.  Today, a card I made that speaks to some of the hope and promise of the new year....a dear friend is having a baby and I need to stockpile a couple baby cards to be ready for her little bundle of joy.

I used Jerry Giraffe from Jane's Doodles at Squigglefly.  My sweet bloggy friend Jane has started her own line of digital stamps and Jerry stole my heart immediately!!!  Jane has issued a challenge to make something using her digital stamps and then you can be entered in her AMAZING blog candy drawing.  See all of the challenge details HERE.  Today is the last day to enter so hurry.

I printed Jerry on a piece of DP from Nana's Nursery, DCWV.  After detail cutting the image,  I gave Jerry pink cheeks, colored and glittered his spots and inked the edges of the image with chestnut roan ink from colorbox.  I wanted to soften everything with a little shabby brown ink ( I used the chestnut roan ink plus the chai and chamomile inks from Papertrey)  It gave everything a warm toasted marshmallow look.  Mmmmmm,  I can practically smell the baby powder.  Love that!  Jerry is also popped up on foam tape along with the layered heart.
