Guest Spot at The Shabby Tea Room!

Happy Monday my friends!  It is my distinct honor and pleasure to be joining the girls at The Shabby Tea Room today for their challenge...."it's hip to be square".  You guessed it, make a project using squares, as many as possible.  I was so excited when Debbie contacted me to guest design with her wonderful team.  Be sure and hop on over to the Shabby Tea Room blog for all of the challenge details and gorgeous project photos.

Here is my card....
I started with a square card base that was embossed with swiss dots.  I then added a pinking sheared piece of creme felt.  I filled this square with the wonderful rose image from Cathe Holden, three punches squares of bitty dot paper from PTI and the focal point square that I stamped with the
mother" stamp using chestnut roan chalk ink.
I used a fan-folded strip of paper and foam dots to pop up the focal square and also used lots of machine stitching which was inspired by the inspo photo of a quilt from Shabby Tea Room.  A piece of lace, craft store silk flower and vintage wooden button finish off my card.

Are you ready for more shabby inspiration?  Check out the girls at the Shabby Tea Room and start thinking in "square" and join us this week in the hip to be square challenge.  Thanks so much for coming by today and thanks to Debbie and The Shabby Tea Room DT for having me this week!
