the inspiration:
my project:
I was inspired by several things in this adorable baby room photo. First and foremost the color scheme. I also liked the feeling of home, the animal on the pillow and the circle elements in the room. I have been wanting to do a handmade bird for a while and this card was my chance. This birdie is all me (including the crazy bird feet ;))
Lots of little details on this project. Just the way I like it :) The circle element is layered several times in the bottom layer stamped with the ring of hearts, a foam popped circle that I custom made Word with shaped text to spell out "bless this nest" and then finally, the paper-pieced and colored little house. A little inking to edges to make it stand out.
My hand-stitched bird has what else, but a button eye? I didn't have a mustard colored button BUT, have alcohol ink, will custom color. Thank YOU Tim Holtz *grin*

If this birdie could, she WOULD shake her tail feathers! hee hee! I should note that the paper bird was sewn to the felt layer and then GLUED to the card base with Fabric tac so she could overhang the edges.
Another homey touch is machine STITCHING! I used a not so great hand held machine but I have been having an itch to stitch and recently cleared a corner of my work table that just might make a home for my singer sewing machine. I gotta do more of this!
So I hope my card was a fun treat for you today. Want more?? Check out the peeks from the team below and then visit their links for more ideas from this fun inspiration challenge! Then please SHARE what you made with everyone. KRISTEN is hostessing the challenge this week for Lauren as Lauren is swamped with the Papertrey Ink realease so please head over to Kristen's blog to add your project to the Mr Linky.
