Just Us Girls #131 Sketch...Better with friends


Howdy!  Happy weekend!  The girls are back with a sketch challenge this week from Andrea, our queen of gorgeous CAS creations!  Check out the details at Just Us Girls!



I used Andrea's sketch as a foundation to my card but, true to form, had to add a couple more layers ;)  That is the beauty of this sketch, it lends itself to all styles!    My card is a tribute to friendship this week.  I was reminded recently that friends are that quiet and elegant safety net that stands at the ready to cheer us, lift us up, make us laugh in that special way that friends do!  I am grateful for the friendships that have been entrusted to me.

Want to make it Fabulous...Day Three!

What do you think?  Exciting, I know!!!  For my project today, I started with some amazing products from all three companies and a fabric gift card sack from Anthropologie!  The gift bag led the charge on color choices and theme. 


I thought JustRite Stampers Spread your Wings cling set would be so cute against the floral design of the gift sack. I also used the Vintage Ovals Labels cling set to fill the background of my circle cut Nestabilities layered tag and the finishing touches were made with Want2Scrap™  Nestabling Petite Scalloped Circle Sm Gold Rhinestones and 72 Count - Sage Green Pearls - Self Adhesive.


I helped myself to a handful of trims from my stash to make a fun and frilly tied topper for my tag.  Love me a little frill...don't you?

Just Us Girls #63.....{let it snow}

Oh my sparkle and shine, have we got a challenge for you!?  The Just Us Girls gang has a challenge for you this week that will tempt you to pour it on and then wear you glitter proudly after your project is complete!  :)  Check out the Just Us Girls post for a link to the Sparkley Stained Glass Technique.
Brrrrrrrrr!  I think there is a frost in the air!  I let the gals over at City Crafters inspire me with their Let it Snow challenge this week and I went with a very blue and silver pallette to show off the gorgeous lines of the snowflake stamp from JustRite stamps. 
Using this technique, the glitter stays trapped behind the transparency but still shines mightily.  I used a single silver bling from Want to Scrap to give the snowflake some 3-D on the front side. A vintage sheet music pinwheel makes a fun background for the glittery snowflake.
These wavy and beglittered vines are from a holiday foliage pick from my local Michaels.  Aren't they lovely?

JustRite 12 Weeks of Christmas Blog Hop 9!

Welcome to the 9th week of JustRite Stampers’ Wednesday feature, 12 Weeks of Christmas Blog Hops! Every Wednesday up until Thanksgiving some of your favorite designers will be joining some of the JustRite design team for a series of Christmas blog hops, showcasing JustRite’s entire Christmas Collection of stamps! For the month of November, we thought we would switch gears a little and throw in some holiday gift ideas using your JustRite stamps, so be watching for those, too, on November’s hops! I was lucky enough to work with two JustRite stamp sets!  The first is a beautiful set of sentiments called Christmas Nested Sentiments & Verse.  I was able to make this sentiment the focal point only needing soft and subtle accents to complete my card.
A piece of sheet music, a handmade felt flower and a piece of evergreen from a Christmas craft pick have been assembled from my crafty stash and how about that pearl edged lace?  That came from a stash of lace I've been holding since my wedding in 1998...does that mean it's "vintage" ??  ;) I also painted and glittered a chipboard lable.

Next up, a holiday tag made with the Whimsical Christmas 2" circle stamp set.  This is a great set with a mix of whimsical and elegant images and borders.  I chose one of the beautiful filigree snowflakes for my tag.
  Again, I hit up my stash of Christmas picks and embellies.  What's not to love about a glittery snowball  plus jingle bells?  I added a bronze metallic to the mix using fabric paint to make dots between the snowflakes.
Searching through my vintage digi images, I found this adorable winter scene from the Clearly Vintage blog.  I thought the colors in this scene went well with the rustic brown stamped JustRite snowflakes.
