Cowboy {w}RAP!

Can I get a Yeeeeehawwwww!???  I do love a rowdy "yeehaw" every now and again to cure what ails me.  Don't knock it til you try it, right?! ;)  LOL  So, blog friends, how about some cowboy RAP, er, I mean, WRAP?

Mmmm hmmm, yep indeed this is a bit o western goodness nestled among some artifacts that live atop our wood burl woodstove mantle.  I needed a clever way to conceal a gift card for a boy turning 8 and decided on these CTMH stamps and a paper wallet of sorts.

The flap tucks behind the yeehaw fence strip to keep the gift card secure.

Good ol Target to the rescue.  We tied this gift card wallet on top of a box of red vines....the perfect snack on the trail, right?

Not to be outdone, my girls made a fabulous card.  Quite colorful don't you think?

One thing is for certain, the cowboys in our life better like rainbows...because this cow-GIRL heavy house has a lot of 'em!

Have a rootin tootin YEEHAW of a day!  Thanks for stopping by my corral, y'all.

My Time to Create Template Challenge #04

Happy Saturday friends! It's time for another challenge from the My Time to Create Challenge design team! This week is a template challenge so you have tons of amazing 3-D project inspiration coming your way!

the challenge:

my project:
I chose the super versatile Get a Handle on It by Lauren Meader for Papertrey Ink. This cute little box holds almost a full canister of Almond Roca with just a few to spare for the gift giver! LOL!

I also used the super cute stamp set and die cut flowers and leaves from the Tickled Pink Scrapbook set from CTMH. Thanks Leigh!

The clear stamps fit perfectly on the precut die cut white cardstock pieces in the kit for easy silhouetting of your stamped images. Awesome! Speaking of awesome.....back to the template! I cut circle shaped windows in the front and the back panels with my coluzzle. I used a piece of clearly creative cardstock to create windows that the gold wrapped almond roca would peek through.
Swiss dots, foam tape and gems give some great design elements to this gift box. This is the perfect box to decorate on all sides. It reminds me of those stationary note cubes...except better because it's handmade with love. :)

And what gift would be complete without a cute card to go with? Using many of the same elements I was able to whip up a matching notecard.

I hope you'll play along this week using a template to make a gift or something fun for yourself. Three are two FREE templates at Papertrey Ink so give em a try, won't you? :)

Give a little LoVe

Hey y'all! Long time no post! I guess I took the week off! It was productive though...I did a TON of spring cleaning that took until summer to get around to. I feel quite accomplished now :)

So back to my regularly scheduled program of crafting and creating. One of the huge benefits of cleaning out and downsizing my STUFF around the house is that I have finally accomplished clearing a space to have my sewing machine out again. I have been seriously jonesing for some stitched paper accents and FINALLY! the time has come! I have a feeling there will be a whole lotta stitchin' going on here for a while....

I have lots of cards to make this month for so many special celebrations starting with a wedding and two anniversaries THIS weekend. One of those anniversaries is my own (11 years) and the other is my parents' (35 years). And a dear friend is starting her first day of many happy anniversaries on Saturday as she takes her vows with the one she loves. I haven't added a sentiment to this card yet since I haven't decided WHO will get it but I think a simply stamped sentiment inside will do. The colors on the card all arrived with the use of this yummy striped paper from CTMH. My sweet friend, Leigh, is a consultant for CTMH {click HERE for her website} and she dropped off a lovely goody bag chock full of paper, embellishments and a stamp set to me last week. She knows how to make a girl's heart go pitter patter...thanks girlie! THAT was so sweet and I had to make something with it right away! With the paper heart in place, it was a cinch to arrange buttons around the edge and stitch with embroidery floss. Simple, but I love it!

I'm so glad you stopped by today! It means the world to me! I hope you give and receive a little love today :)

Supplies:
Designer PAper: CTMH
Cardstock: Georgia Pacific
Buttons: Papertrey Ink and my button collection ;)
