Just Us Girls #10 Sketch challenge...{Have yourself a merry little Christmas}

Hellooooo blog friends!  It's Saturday and time for a little challenge from Just Us Girls!  It's a sketch this week and we'd love it if you played along and linked us up so we can see.

Taking inspiration from Papertrey ink (felt snow hills) and Tim Holtz (alcohol ink FLANNEL backgrounds!)  I inked and stamped and stitched up a little snowman card using the JUGs sketch.
Doesn't thatlook all watm and cozy?  Too much fun!  This card was super quick since I already had the flannel backgorund ready and waiting.  I pulled out an SU! holiday stamp and two studio G $1 dollar stamps for the center panel and used a stamp from Papertrey vintage ornament additions to create the green on green background panel.

Now I went a little cutesy hre but if you want to see some gorgeous and sophisticated creations, you have GOT to check out the rest of the JUGs team.  Be sure and visit their blogs for all the juicy details.  They are listed in my sidebar...

Thank you for stopping by today.  I hope you have a wonderful weekend.  I will be spending much of mine singing Christmas carols and finishing up the tree decorations with the kiddos.  Wishing you a merry little Christmas...

Just Us Girls #9 ...Sending you Christmas JOY!

Hi Friends!  It's saturday and time for another challenge with Just Us Girls!  This week we are challenging you to use a template to create gift packaging and our hostess with the mostest has offered up some wonderful BLOG CANDY as incentive to try this challenge.  Head on over to the JUGs blog to get a peek at the candy.  I used a great Gable Box template from Kelleigh Ratzlaff Designs.  Kelleigh's templates come in PDF format and PNG files that you can digitally "clip" your digital papers to before printing.  Too cool for school!  Since I'm pretty low tech, I use the PDF version and print right onto the back of my cardstock and away we go.

I grabbed some DP from DCWV (The Glitter Christmas Stack) and a piece of coordinating cardstock from SU! I printed the tempalte onto the back of the cardstock, cut and scored according to the template lines.  The DP was cut, edger punched and scored so it would wrap neatly around the template box body.  I also added a "handle" at the top using the SU! lable punch.

All that's left is the fun stuff.... to embellish!  I choose a stamp from Papertrey Ink's vintage ornament set stamping light pink on cream cardstock and using a burgandy ink for the detail band across the ornament.  Ribbon and tulle are fun and feminine touches to hang this ornament using a spiral clip (remember those?!  loved using this piece of my "collection").  Ooohh, couldn't resist some pink glitter details either. :)

Ready to make something?  We'd love it if you joined the JUGs girls with this weeks challenge.
