Day Two projects are from:
Be sure to visit everyone and comment to win!

For my project I turned to a strong adhesive from Glue Arts called Adhesive Squares™ Brand Adhesives-ExtremeTac .  I covered a punched circle with the adhesive squares to prep the base of a handmade flower from fabric.

Creating this flower is a snap.  I started in the middle of the adhesive and wound my fabric around in circles until the adhesive was covered.

Love the natural fraying happening here!

I added my flower to a birthday card made from Manilla Tags and Swirls, Finesse - LeCreme Pearls - 2 Pack - Self Adhesive from Want2Scrap and added designer papers, a stamped sentiment and more fabric scraps.  Soooo easy and the fabric flower is secure thanks to the strong adhesive from Glue Arts.  Be sure to check in at  Want2Scrap AND the Glue Arts Blogs tomorrow for more great projects! Thanks so much for stopping by!Photobucket

I decided to scrap some photos of my trip to Italy last year.  These are two of my favorites from Rome...my first siting of the famous Trevi Fountain and my first vino and pizza in ROME!...seriously, it doesn't get any better this!  Doesn't the Marquis Silver Rhinestone Design - Self Adhesive bling that I colored with a light blue sharpie look just like a fountain on the crystal clear 12 x 12 Decorative Sheet Style E - acrylic?

I was able to bling up my handmade paper flowers (using vintage sheet music and gorgeous papers from Graphic45) and my Want2ScrapTM Chipboard Embellishments - Pack of 5 - Style D using 72 Count - Black Rhinestones - Self Adhesive and 72 Count - Baby Blue Rhinestones - Self Adhesive.

I love layering up delicious trims and punched paper edges, don't you?

And the star of our Want2ScrapTM Blog Hop show......NestablingTM!  Here I used one of the frames from NestablingTM  Fancy Tags Two Black Rhinestones to highlight my page title that I printed with my computer and then die cut with Spellbinders Fancy Tags Two die.  I love the custom look that NestablingTM gives my die cut shapes!

Thanks so much for stopping by my blog on Want2Scrap's first ever blog hop.  Good luck and I'm crossing my fingers for you!

Just for Mom...

Today's card is just for MOM and given the yellow crepe streamer paper flowers and the sewing pattern flower leaves, I had my own mama in mind when I was crafting this the other day.

That bling-y flower center was made using Want2Scrap silver rhinestone bling and I have a detailed tutorial over on Want2Scrap today to show you how to make your own vintage jewelry inspired centerpieces. Check it out {HERE}.

The crepe streamer flowers are so delicate looking IRL....think dried wrist corsage flowers delicate.

To make the delicate leaves for these flowers, I folded a sewing pattern multiple times and freehand cut a leaf shape.  Leaving them stacked like this gives them a fun fluttery look.

I used some Want2Scrap nestabling (petite scalloped circle) direct to my background DP for a pretty element that highlights the flower and that sweet little girl image from October Afternoon.

Thanks so much for stopping by today.  I truly appreciate your company.  Have a lovely day!

Just Us Girls #80 color challenge...and happy birthday LISA!

Hey JUGs fans!  This is BIRTHDAY week at Just Us Girls!  First, our dear Elise and now, our hostess with the mostest, the lovely Lisa Kind!  Lisa picked our challenge colors this week and bonus challenges us to make it a birthday card.....well, THAT was easy since I needed a card to send to my friend! Happy Birthday Lisa!  Not only do the JUGs want to wish Lisa a very happy birthday but check out this post over at My Time Made Easy for a complete list of creative ladies who are kicking off the birthday wishes in beautiful style.

I've been trying my hand at crepe paper streamer flowers lately and I just happened to have this pretty pale coral color!  Having fun with distressed cardboard for the leaves, music paper bordered with Nestabling pennant in silver and lots of other fun and shabby details.

Including these vintage cream colored pearls I salvaged from a piece of jewelry.  LOVE giving new life to bits and baubles.

Ready to infuse some new vigor in your color palettes?   I think you'll love playing along with Just Us Girls this week in color challenge #80!
And please also leave some love for the FABULOUS April guest designer, Teresa Kline!

Just Us Girls 77 3D challenge....zip to it!

Woohooo!  The day is here!  Just Us Girls 3D challenge day and this week I am so excited to challenge you to make a zipper flower.  You may remember {my post} using one of these texture rich flowers a couple weeks ago.  If you'd like a TUTORIAL for the kind of zipper flower I made, please check out the tutorial I wrote on the Want2Scrap blog
The challenge this week is to make any sort of flower with a ZIPPER!

Eeek!  I love that baby pink/silver toothed combo for my flower.  Delicate but tough at the same time :) Perhaps a little inner rocker chick/80's hair band love is showing here?  ;) I topped my flower creation with a great silver toned button using fabri tac.

I also tried a little color on colored cardstock shading via the Papertrey Ink Make it Monday 7 challenge.  I a stamped wild wasabi ink PTI Fillable Frame 4 on PTI chartreuse paper and then used a grey copic to shade between the outside border and the inner dotted border....very subtle.  I then re-dotted the dotted border with black.

This zipper flower also needed a fun stick pin.  I grabbed a yellow leaf topped quilters pin and I used embroidery floss to make two fluffy pom poms to thread onto my needle along with a craft pearl.  Check out my yarn pom pom tutorial {here} for how to make pom poms.  I used the dangling green embroidery floss ends to tie on craft pearls for a fun free moving element.

I also altered a scanned vintage bingo card so that the "bingo" letters now spell out "GR*OW" for my card.  I love simple do it yourself touches like this!  Feel free to grab this for use in your own projects.  I hope you'll leave me a link in the comments on this post if you use it.  I love to see what you make.

Are you ready for more inspiration from the JUGs DT?  Check these fine crafty ladies out!
Thank you Alyssa for all of your wonderful creations in March!

Thanks so much for coming by today!  Can't wait to see all the cool flowers this week!

Zip on over to Want2Scrap for a zipper flower tutorial!

**Looking for my Just Us Girls post?  Please click {HERE}**

Hello friends!  I hope you can zip on over to the Want2Scrap today and check out an simple tutorial on how to make your own flowers out of zippers!   I have been noticing these fab flowers all over the place and I had to make one myself.
Click {HERE} to head on over to Want2Scrap.

I used mine on a fashion oriented card because I do so love the trend of vintage seamstress items and the dress form trend that has been all over lately. I was able to tuck in bits of vintage goodies in the pocket inspired by the challenge over at City Crafter Challenge blog.

This pocket would be great with a fabric store gift card tucked inside too!

Check out the bits of Want2Scrap bling adorning my zipper flower and also, my handmade original button card.

The button card was designed in Word, printed, and then I added the glamour girl stamp in the center from Clearly Vintage. Isn't she fabulous dah-ling?!

Ready to make your own zipper flower?  Zip on over to the Want2Scrap blog for all the details!  Happy flower making...

Fun with fun foam flowers and CR84FN17 and how about some blog candy?

Oh boy!  Have I been having some fun with FUN FOAM!  Who would have thought this spongy stuff would lead to the white flowers I am currently IN LOVE with?  I am over the moon to have discovered how to turn fun foam into perfectly sweet flowers!  Thank you Papertrey Ink for challenging us to go outside the fun foam box this week!!  Check out the awesome fun foam creations going on at the Papertrey Ink Make It Monday challenge for more fun fun foam ideas!  Also visit the pretty creations at the CR84FN17 challenge for a pretty color combo challenge.
OK, here's where I went with fun foam and light pink, bright pink and chartreuse...
Don't those fun foam flowers just pop?  I was able to use the Papertrey Ink Beautiful Blooms II #3 flower dies to cut fun foam like buttah!  I also used fun foam for the pretty Spellbinders fancy tag 2 that I used as a backer for the top of my tag.  Fun foam cuts wonderfully and has a great texture to it, is flexible AND when you carefully add a little heat to it via heat gun....you get THIS!
Kinda like shrinky dinks but the fun foam remains flexible even after heating.  This spells POTENTIAL to me!  How about you????
I also had fun integrating some of my latest supply obsessions....fabric and sewing oriented items!
Fabric + Paper = Happiness!

I am so giddy with my discovery that I would love to SHARE some!  Please leave a comment to be entered in a random drawing to win a DOZEN FUN FOAM FLOWERS handcrafted by me for you!  If you are one of my sweet followers, please leave a second comment for another chance at these little sweeties.

I will draw a winner on Monday and post it here on the blog.  Thanks so much for stopping by today!
