Happy Saturday! Happy World Card Making Day! In honor of WCMD I have a card that seems only "fitting" to what I like to do most here in blogland....challenges! So I have a THREE-fer today! Fun! The first is a brand new one called Just Us Girls or JUGs! Created by
Kristen Beuter and
Pam Imholtz, Kristen explains it best
..."Well, it's Saturday and normally that would mean it's time for a My Time To Create challenge, BUT this weekend we're not having a My Time challenge so we decided to offer a different challenge to you all! In honor of "Just Us Girls" playing along today and the fact that we are kicking off breast cancer awareness month, we decided to host a "JUGS" challenge :O) ...pun INTENDED! LOL" I think Kristen's mom, a survivor, would approve!
It's a sketch and I'll hope you'll play along and link us up on Kristen's blog. Here are the JUGS/MyTime girls who are playing along today:
The next challenge is also brand new...the Everything but the Kitchen Sink challenge! Check out the details at
Courtney Baker's blog. Basically, use some junk mail! Here's my junk:
A fitting guide from a recent Athleta catalog, a cardboard "credit card" and the vintage remnant tag I show as the whole inspiration for this sewing slanted card.
And finally, the color pallette from
SPCC #17!
Here she is! Isn't this vintage McCalls pattern girl FAB?! You can get her from one of my favorite vintage image sharing blogs,
Clearly Vintage. She was printed and then die cut and mounted on the cardboard "credit card" I got in my mail. The background behind her is a piece of the fitting chart from the Athleta magazine.
Here's a shot so you can see how vintage girl is popped up on foam dots...now that's the way to work a "credit card" if you ask me!? LOL
Additional details here are vintage buttons, sewing pins, vintage material gathered to highlight the pattern girl, stitching and some pinking sheers. Oh! And bonus...I remembered last night that I have been hoarding this tape rule sticker from Marcella by Kay for some time now and I ACTUALLY found it in my stash when I looked! Cool huh?
Thanks so much for stopping by today. I hope your WCMD is amazing!
