Just Us Girls Challenge #5 Wild card challenge!...{holiday photo card}

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas....

what?!   Or, er, HALLOWEEN!  Happy Halloween everyone!  Before I hop right into the JUGs challenge, allow me to share my dear featured with his "deer"....

This pumpkin perfection was custom made with my hubby in mind by none other than the amazing and ultra talented, and Halloween obsessed ;), Elise of Mamacow Creations!  Take a bow, girlfriend!  You are the queen of pumpkin carving!

Now that we've gotten our halloween fix, how about a challenge with Just Us Girls?  Super sweet and talented, Kristin Bueter, is hostessing our Wild Card Challenge this week.

I chose a super cute and easy template by Kelleigh Ratzlaff to make a holiday door hanger using Kristen's digi stamps and a photo of my girls.  You can find the Door Pouch template at the Digichick Boutique.

Look at those cute little elves on my front lawn!

The door pouch has enough room to add some festive stuffing and a homemade treat, gift card, personal, note, etc.  I hand colored Kristin's lamp image with brush tip markers after printing it on white cardstock.  I echoed the raspberry and bright green colors of the KI Memories holiday DP.  A little glitter, ribbon and a button and we are ready to leave some cheer on a special friend's door.  These would also be cute hanging on a christmas tree branch...a fun alternative to the money/gift card in an envelope on the tree, dontcha think?

Want to get a jump start on your holiday photo greetings?  Check out the amazing inspiration and details at the Just Us Girls designer blogs:

We hope you'll get a chance to play along with us this week.  Thanks for stopping by!

Supplies:
Digital Stamps: Kristin Bueter!
Paper: Papertrey Ink, KI Memories, Georgia Pacific
Punch: CM and SU!

SwwwwweeeeeeeeeeT!!! What an uber sweet little holiday creation! Actually, you've managed to do what oh so many of us try to do.......get through Halloween and the early Christmas prep at the same time! Woohoo!

That pumpkin is uber cute! I try to do at least one detailed pumpkin a year...the rest get the standards faces, but a) I do not do the design myself and b) I have not mastered the carving/shaving technique as Elise, most obviously, has! :>

Oh Dana!!! What an amazing holiday project and a fab idea! I would MUCH rather receive this cute little door hanger than a gift card in an envelope! I LOVE your non-conforming holiday colors!!! They are so fresh and festive! Also love how you colored my lamp post ;] I can see better what you were saying about the filler in your door hanger. When I first saw it I thought the right side of the ribbon was something else sticking out of the pocket. Now I can see it was part of your bow :O)

This really is a cute idea! You could do something similar to the "You have been boo-ed" thing people do at Halloween only switch it up for Christmas and put some candies in your door hanger! How fun :O)

OHHHH...and don't let me forget to tell you, you have a BEAUTIFUL family! ...and a wonderful friend in Elise for carving such a FANTASTIC pumpkin for your husband! Elise is super talented!!! LOVE it!!

This is so cute!! Thanks for the idea! I completely forgot about that door hanger, but it really would be the perfect place to stash a gift card! It could even be resized for more super-cuteness!!

Fun-freakin-tastic Dana!! LOL I love this template - I could make these for the team mates in my office and hang them (secretly) on their doors... oooh cool! Love how you added the photo tag - and used some pink and green to bring in the holiday. WOnderful job and isn't Kristin's set a fun one! Take care girl.
Hugs to you.

Ohhhhh, my goodness, SWEET LITTLE DANE! Your family's adorableness is such a mighty fine compliment to my pumpkin! Gosh, I knew you could get it's "best side" (my photos were terrible!).... Anyway, I'm positively honored! Your entire post is so inspirational to me on so many levels! Thanks for making me feel special, but most of all, THANKS FOR THE GREAT INSPIRATION with your terrific door hanger and excellent crafty-craftiness! Such an adorable holiday keepsake if ever there was one! LOVE it, LOVE you!
